Create highlights, tags, and research evidence

Turn the exact words in a transcript into traceable evidence, then organize each quote with tags, notes, and research questions.

Before you start

  • A ready transcript
  • Research questions in the project if you want question-level organization

01

Select the source material

  1. 1Open an interview transcript.
  2. 2Select a transcript segment or a precise text range inside the segment.
  3. 3Choose Highlight for a quick visual marker, or choose Tag, Research Question, or Note to create structured evidence.
  4. 4Apply the selected metadata. The saved evidence retains the quote and its interview timing.

02

Organize evidence while you review

  • Create a tag directly from the transcript when no existing tag fits.
  • Apply one or more tags to the selected quote.
  • Link the quote to one or more research questions.
  • Add a researcher note to capture interpretation or follow-up context.
  • Remove a highlight, tag, question link, or note without deleting the underlying transcript.

03

Review in the Evidence library

Open Evidence to review material across all interviews in the project. Filters are available for participant, research question, tag, finding, language, status, and text search.

  1. 1Open an evidence item to inspect the full quote, context, linked findings, and playable source media when available.
  2. 2Confirm evidence that is reliable enough for analysis, or reject material that should not be used.
  3. 3Select multiple evidence items to apply status, tags, or research questions in one batch.
  4. 4Use Generate suggested evidence when you want AI-proposed items, then review them before confirmation.
