Build and export a research report

Generate a report from confirmed findings, edit its sections, verify source references, run quality checks, and export the ready version.

8 min read

Before you start

  • At least one reviewed and confirmed finding for the standard workflow
  • Valid source references for report-ready findings

01

Generate the report

  1. 1Open the project and select Report.
  2. 2Check the confirmed finding count and select Generate report.
  3. 3If confirmed findings are not yet available, a draft can be generated for editing, but a draft cannot be exported.
  4. 4Review the generated sections, which can include the objective, methodology, participant overview, findings, evidence, limitations, recommendations, and appendix.

02

Edit the report structure and content

  • Edit a section title or body and save the manual changes.
  • Regenerate a section when its source material has changed; regeneration replaces current content, including manual edits.
  • Add or duplicate a section, move it up or down, hide it from the report, or delete it.
  • Select a reference badge to inspect its finding, evidence, participant, interview, timestamp, and citation status.
  • Create a new report version after the underlying research data changes.

03

Run quality checks and export

  1. 1Run Quality check and review finding, supporting evidence, counter-evidence, and citation counts.
  2. 2Resolve critical citation errors, then select Mark Ready.
  3. 3Choose TXT, CSV, DOCX, or PDF in Export report.
  4. 4Wait for the export job to succeed, then use Download from the export history.

Only visible report sections are included in an export. Export controls remain disabled while the report is a draft or another export is running.
